Rickenbacker 620/12 in fabulous Jetglo. In 2005 Rickenbacker advised that they were to change their headstock design, here’s what they said.
Rickenbacker is pleased to announce a new headstock design for all of our standard 12 string guitar models (this excludes vintage reissue models). Not only will this new headstock design make it easier to string up our 12-string models, but it will make them easier to tune as well. As an added bonus, the reduced weight will translate into an improved all around sound for the guitar. This design will be slowly phased into production on all non reissue 12 string models over an unspecified period of time.
This is a 2009 model and it still has the traditional headstock (Hooray) but also it has factory fitted Vintage style keywinds, which give this small bodied guitar a much better balance and a reduced overall weight. Nice!
Unused, unsold stock in mint condition with standard case and candy in original factory carton.
The Model 620/12 features the famous ‘Cresting Wave’ Maple cutaway body based on an innovative design from the 1950’s. A Rosewood fingerboard is punctuated beautifully with triangular pearloid inlay markers, while the maple double bound neck and body are solid through and through. The 620 is electronically engineered to the exacting standards of the 300 series, complete with Rickenbacker’s own high gain pickups and stereo output. Successfully retaining the balance from the original specifications, the 620 is another fine example of Rickenbacker quality workmanship.
