Electro was a brand manufactured by Rickenbacker and supplied to dealers not carrying the full Rickenbacker line. Sometimes a comparable Rickenbacker was completed as an Electro to fulfill an order. This is such an example, as under the scratchpalte it is designated as a 425. Around this time Rickenbacker were making their 400 series guitars with both through necks and set necks, this particular example , a set neck, has zero wear and just like its sister 12 string 456 is a pleasure to play. This one also came complete with an Electro tube amp which is truly a wonderful tone. Electro’s were often supplied in a guitar and amplifier package for ‘Students , there was also a short scale model, the Electro E16.
